Projet de fin d'études qui constite en la création de 150 logements sociaux et d'un centre sportif. Le site est dans le XIIIème arrondissement parisien, au bout de l'Avenue de France, et le projet propose une conclusion à celle-ci tout en introduisant la banlieue. Pour ce faire, deux bâtiments organisés autour d'une nouvelle place sont implantés dans une composition en désaxement. Celle-ci permet d'avoir une certaine frontalité face à l'Avenue de France tout en incitant au mouvement lorsque le piéton se rapproche. Ce décalage débouche sur une place offrant une vue cadrée sur les collines du Kremlin-Bicêtre.

Project of the conception of a 150 social housing unit and a sport center. The site is located in the 13th district of Paris on the very end of the Avenue de France, and the project aims to bring a conclusion to the street while introducing the adjacent suburbia. In order to do this, two buildings are organized around a new town square and displayed out of alignment. This lay out allows a front to the street while inciting the movement when the pedestrian comes closer. This shift in the alignement leads to the new square and a view on the hills of the next city.

Localization & Concepts

Pour concilier les contradictions de cette zone, le projet met l'accent sur une géométrie variable selon la temporalité :
- en journée, un atelier qui permet le travail d'artistes sélectionnés par la ville, des commerces orientés vers la rue principale et un terrain de jeux pour enfants.
- après les cours, l'atelier s'ouvre sur le parc pour créer un ou plusieurs espaces de workshop intérieurs et extérieurs.
- en weekend ou pendant les vacances, l'atelier relie la rue principale et les commerces au tissu urbain intérieur, en se transformant partiellement en espace d'exposition qui promeut le travail des enfants et des artistes.

Il s'agit aussi dans ce projet de composer avec l'architecture traditionnelle japonaise et de la compléter. Le module du tatami est repris dans les proportions du nouvel édifice ainsi que les principales lignes des édifices aux alentours, bien que le polycarbonate ait été choisi comme matériau contrastant avec le bois sombre de l'existant. Les règles de composition du paysagisme japonais ont également été reprises pour la création des jardins.

To reconcile the contradictions of the district, the project put the emphasis on a configuration depending on the temporality.
- in the day time, an atelier which provides a working space for artists selected by the city, stores on the main street and a playground.
- after-school time, the atelier opens on the park to create one or several workshop spaces, inside or outside.
- weekend and holiday time, the atelier is now a link between the main touristic street and the inner city by becoming an exhibition space and displaying works of children and artists.

The project was also dealing with the Japanese traditional architecture to match and complete it. The tatami module is used in the proportion of the new edifice as long as the main lines of the surrounding buildings, even though the polycarbonate has been used in order to contrast with the dark wood of the current store. The Japanese landscape rules has also been picked up for the design of the gardens.
